Signs that your child should see a doctor
Any of these symptoms or conditions could indicate a serious underlying illness in your child. We recommend you schedule a visit with your pediatrician right away.

Recurring ear infections/earaches
- Recurring tonsil and throat infections, in particular strep throat
- Sleep apnea (see Terms and Definitions)
- Drainage from ear
- Any level of hearing loss
- Swelling in the neck
- Nasal and sinus infections that don’t respond to initial treatment
- Unusual voice changes – lower or higher pitch, softer or louder, changes in tone
- Troubled or painful swallowing
- Troubled or painful breathing
- Any kind of unusual pain in the head and neck region
