Young PatientIf you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, which could signal a pregnancy complication, you’ll want to let your obstetrician or OB/GYN caregiver know immediately:

  • Abdominal contractions
  • Excessive weight gain
  • Fluid leaking from vagina, water breaking
  • Not feeling your baby move
  • Painful genital blisters
  • Unusual fluid retention
  • Vaginal bleeding


Other symptom groups to watch for and speak with your obstetrician about include the following:

  • Convulsions, loss of consciousness
  • Fatigue, fainting, heart palpitations, feeling out of breath, unusual skin color
  • Fever, mild and itchy rash
  • Muscle pain, fatigue, flu-like feeling
  • Puffy eyes, hands or face, high blood pressure, sudden weight gain, headache, visual disturbances, abdominal pain
  • Rash on cheeks, legs, trunk of body or neck
