The Rainbow Call Center is one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious pediatric nurse telephone triage call centers. 

The center is located at Case Medical Center and is comprised of 35 staff members who provide the following six core services:

  • Physician subscriber nurse telephone triage,
  • Poison control and bioterrorism services,
  • Medical messaging,
  • Follow-up calls to all patients discharged from Rainbow,
  • Ask Rainbow! public nurse advice and second opinions, and
  • Answering after-hours calls to the UH4-CARE marketing line.



The Center has a history of receiving very high parent satisfaction ratings, as the nurses spend an average of eight minutes discussing each caller’s concern.  The staff has a great sense of satisfaction.  At the end of their shift, a nurse has typically helped 50 - 70 callers.
