The Department of Pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and Case Medical School has a proud and long-standing tradition of providing training that has produced pediatric leaders at the local, national, and international levels. In our constantly evolving and challenging health care environment, we recognize and emphasize the critical role of the pediatrician as a practitioner, educator, investigator, consultant and family counselor.
We offer four integrated training programs:
- Pediatrics,
- Medicine/Pediatrics ,
- Genetics/Pediatrics and
- Pediatrics/Child Neurology.
Our large and diverse group of Faculty , which represents all the pediatric medical and surgical sub-specialties, is enthusiastically dedicated to their roles as teachers and mentors for pediatric trainees. They view the house staff as colleagues and take great pride in the success of the residency program. The faculty’s devotion to our residents is the key to the program's achievements.
We are committed to providing our trainees with the comprehensive knowledge base and skills required of the 21st century pediatrician. We promote the development of problem-solving skills, clinical judgment, critical thinking, and academic excellence through exposure to all aspects of child development, preventative medicine, the care of acute and chronic illness, and the systems of medical care.
These experiences are enhanced by our warm and nurturing atmosphere and our modern state-of-the-art facilities. In the last few years, Rainbow has opened anew inpatient tower, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, sedation unit and inpatient psychiatry facility, with a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cancer Hospital and Emergency Medicine Department opening in the upcoming months.
Furthermore, the proximity of an adult hospital and a school of medicine ensures the availability of all modern technology, the full array of consultants, countless basic science experts and the stimulation of our outstanding medical students.
We provide an environment in which each house officer is given the maximum opportunity to achieve his/her potential whether he/she chooses an academic or clinical career path in general pediatric s or any sub-specialty. We look forward to meeting with you so that you may experience our exceptional program first-hand.
