Call your baby’s doctor or nurse practitioner if you notice:
Bad odor, discharge or pus from the cord
Thick, yellow drainage from the eyes
Refusal to eat several times in a row
Vomiting (spitting up most of feedings or spit-up that shoots across the room)
Diarrhea – three watery stools in an eight-hour period
A fever of 100 degrees or above (Take the baby’s temperature by placing a thermometer under the armpit, with clothing out of the way)
Excessive crying for several hours for no apparent reason
A sudden change in behavior or activity (irritability or excessive sleepiness)
Bleeding from the circumcision
Coughing
Yellow eye or skin color
Less than six to eight wet diapers a day by one week of life
