CLEVELAND -- University Hospitals Health System (UHHS) has successfully assembled its comprehensive collaboration of corporate health services that offer work-related injury care and treatment and return to work support for Northeast Ohio businesses.
UHHS announces its new service offerings with the launching of its corporate health provider network--a panel of providers dedicated to the treatment of on-the-job injuries.
This network complements the comprehensive medical case management and return-to-work services provided by University’s CompCare as network providers can now be accessed through a single point of contact at 1-866-RTW-UHHS.
University CompCare, a subsidiary of UHHS, is a nationally-accredited and state-certified workers’ compensation managed care organization (MCO) that provides medical management and cost containment services to employers and their injured employees and facilitates recovery and return to work.
Network medical treatments provided to injured workers are based on benchmarked medical care standards for particular injuries or illnesses. This approach facilitates a quick, safe return to work for the injured employee, either through medical release with physical restrictions to a transitional position while rehabilitation occurs or directly to the original position.
"When an employee sustains an on-the-job injury or illness, our goal is to provide prompt, appropriate care based on best practices that will reduce lost work days and costs associated with work-related injuries and illnesses," stated Clairmonte Cappelle, Vice President, University CompCare.
By working as a team internally and partnering with employers and their injured workers, both University CompCare and the provider network are able to bring compassion, efficiency and results to the medical management and return-to-work processes. Providers include occupational medicine specialists, orthopedic specialists, neurologists, pain management and rehabilitation medicine specialists, as well as ambulatory/urgent care centers, hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.
"Our goal is to meet the work-related health care needs of Northeast Ohio employers by providing high-quality, all-encompassing medical care along with the nationally-accredited case management and return to work services of University CompCare," Cappelle said.
By year’s end, UHHS will once again add another corporate health service offering with the roll out a comprehensive program to provide employment-related exams for Northeast Ohio employers. This program will offer a full range of exams that may be required by an employer as part of the hiring process or to comply with work-related health and safety regulations, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
