CLEVELAND – Laurie Delgado has been appointed President of University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center (UHRMC), effective July 7, 2008. In this role, Ms. Delgado will have full responsibility for all clinical programs and services provided by UHRMC.
Ms. Delgado will continue to work with the UHRMC leadership team to complete extensive renovation projects at the hospital, including the medical/surgical unit and the emergency department.
Ms. Delgado joined University Hospitals in 1992 and filled several key management positions prior to her appointment as President of UH Geneva Medical Center in 2003 and UH Conneaut Medical Center in 2006. Under Ms. Delgado’s leadership, UH Geneva Medical Center completed a $1.5 million renovation and expansion of its emergency department and began construction on the UH Geneva Medical Office Building. At UH Conneaut Medical Center, Ms. Delgado oversaw the opening of a state-of-the-art surgical suite, the only one of its kind in any community hospital in Northeast Ohio or Western Pennsylvania. Both entities also have exhibited strong operating performance and consistently improving quality outcomes under Ms. Delgado’s direction.
Prior to joining University Hospitals, she worked in both long-term care and an outpatient mental health facility as a Registered Health Information Technologist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Management and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare from Baldwin Wallace College.
Ms. Delgado received the YWCA Women of Professional Excellence Award in 2005 and serves on the boards of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, LEADERship Ashtabula, and the Community Care Ambulance Network.
In the interim, Rob David, Director of Finance, will assume the responsibility of Acting President of Geneva and Conneaut Medical Centers.
