Our Diverse Medical and Administrative Staff
At University Hospitals, we are developing a workforce of health care professionals who reflect our diverse patient population. UH has recruited and developed a workforce of doctors, nurses and other personnel from diverse cultural, ethnic and racial backgrounds. We have created several initiatives to enhance diversity at UH, including:
- The Edgar B. Jackson Jr., MD, Endowed Chair for Clinical Excellence and Diversity, the only endowed, permanent staff position in an academic medical center established to promote diversity of academic faculty.
- The Henry L. Meyer III KeyBank Faculty Minority Fellows Program, funded by the Key Foundation, helps transition postgraduate residents or fellows to full-time UH faculty positions.
- The David Satcher Clerkship, an innovative program designed to strengthen and expand the participation of underrepresented minority medical students in the profession of orthopaedic surgery.
- The Timothy L. Stephens Jr., MD, Orthopaedic Fellowship is an innovative program designed to strengthen and expand the participation of underrepresented minority medical students in the profession of orthopaedic surgery.
- The Henry L. Meyer III KeyBank Administrative Minority Fellows Program, which helps build a foundation for successful careers in medical administration and management.
