The University Hospitals Educational Assistance program for Allied Health students provides Allied Health students with funds to support their course of study while they are completing their program and provides University Hospitals with potential candidates for vacant Allied Health job opportunities. Educational Assistance is awarded as a forgivable loan, conditioned on the participant's future employment in an Allied Health position with University Hospitals. The Educational Assistance program is operated on academic years.
Pharmacy Educational Assistance requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled full time in an accredited course of study leading to a degree in pharmacy: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) / degree in Pharmacy, with eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Ohio.
- Individuals are eligible to obtain educational assistance during their final year of a pharmacy program up to 3 months after graduation.
- At the time of application for educational assistance, the individual must be a U.S. citizen or be able to provide documentation that he/she will otherwise be legally eligible to work in the U.S. upon completion of the pharmacy program/receiving their license for the defined length of the work commitment associated with educational assistance received.
- Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (in a 4.0 system) and be in good academic standing.
- Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a pharmacy faculty member, typed on school/college letterhead.
- Applicants must also submit a current official grade transcript.

Rehabilitation Services (Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy) Educational Assistance requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited course of study leading to an entry-level degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy: Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, with eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Ohio.
- Individuals are eligible to obtain educational assistance within 8-12 months of graduation from a physical therapy or occupational therapy program.
- At the time of application for educational assistance, the individual must be a U.S. citizen or be able to provide documentation that he/she will otherwise be legally eligible to work in the U.S. upon completion of the physical therapy/occupational therapy program/receiving their license for the defined length of the work commitment associated with educational assistance received.
- Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from his/her program faculty member, typed on school/college letterhead.
- Applicants must also submit a current official grade transcript and a copy of all field work/clinical affiliation evaluations.
- Applicants must have successfully completed any clinical affiliations.
